Due to a unintentional roster violation, Matt Belesky has been released. I will bench a similar player tonight to even out the extra man game gained last night.

What was the violation? It looked fine to me.

I have 3 players on IR. Belesky was my 4th injury replacement. 1 player over the limit.

Sorry to be slow here but if Yahoo lets you add him, isn't it a legal move? You still had to have roster space to make the move.

Not necessarily. Because this league has a farm system you have to account for those players.

Mike was over the limit yesterday and I am convinced their was no intention to do so. I thought there was something amiss last night, but it was not easily noticeable.
All teams have to take into account the players on Yahoo and on your farm team so you need to be aware of your total players listed on Proboards. If you have all 3 IR/IR+ filled on Yahoo, the most players you can have on your roster is 37. If you're at 38, you have an illegal roster and you need to make a move.
I wouldn't be overly concerned with sitting a player out as much as trying to account to what Beleskey contributed yesterday. Beleskey contributed 5 hits in last nights game. If Mike has less than 5 hits more than Hazen does at the end of the matchup, then that category should have gone to Hazen. In all honesty, we should wait to see how it plays out before trying to figure out what is in the best interests of all concerned.

So the issue was Mike had 11 players on the farm team?
If you have no more then 10 players on your farm and you meet Yahoo's rules (24 regular plus 3 IR) then there is no way to go over 37.

No, Mike has 14 farm eligible players on his team, which is perfectly fine, because you can always slot some of these farm players on your roster on Yahoo. If you have 3 injured players, you have to count your total players on the Proboards roster listing page and make sure you don't have any more than 37 (in this example). Yahoo showed that Mike had room to add a player, so he did. As far as Yahoo is concerned, the roster is fine.
The thing to remember is that you can exceed the maximum of 34 players on your roster by the number of players you have placed on IR/IR+ on Yahoo. You need to check the Proboards roster page to ensure you haven't exceeded your roster maximum, especially if you have more than 10 farm eligible players on your team. If you do that, you should be fine.
